The new note of the association ANUUMigrators on weekly step has highlighted an interesting migratory movement of the last bottacci thrushes and the appearance of redwing thrushes. The festivities of the Dead were characterized by rain and mist that actually stopped the pace, a situation that forces birds such as thrushes and wood pigeons to follow routes in the direction of Greece, with a considerable deviation. At the Arosio Observatory (Como), however, conclusions can be drawn on the step and the hopes are all for a November marked by positive news.
The optimistic ideas are already there, given that the first contingents of Cesene have arrived in the North and in Central Italy, with other species that until now had been kept waiting. The main examples are those of frosoni, gods finches and siskin. Excellent sightings were also those of blackbirds, robins and blackcaps, while skylarks and pipits were more present only in some areas.
The ANUU recalled the importance of the hunting world in this context. We are talking about the project on the collection of thrush wings: the forms can be requested from the central secretariat of the association and sent by 31 January 2017 to the postal address of Via Baschenis 11 / C in Bergamo or to the e-mail address ([email protected]).
