I Parks of the Duchy, the management body for parks and biodiversity in Western Emilia, have decided to equip themselves with lead-free ammunition (and therefore non-toxic) for the killing of wild boars. The idea came from a regulation of the Emilia Romagna Region, according to which these ammunition are the only ones that can be used for taking of wildlife heads whose meat is intended for food consumption.
Up to now, the control plans had also made it possible to exploit different cartridges and environmental associations WWF and Legambiente they complained about the three years of waiting to arrive at such a result. The request of the two entities is that it opens a public discussion table in the coming months in order to address the topic directly. The Emilian park authority manages various protected areas and reserves.
We are talking about the Taro Regional River Park, the Trebbia River Park, the Carrega Woods Park, the Hundred Lakes Park and the Stirone and Piacenziano Regional Park. Furthermore, we must not forget the nature reserves Torrile Trecasali, Monte Prinzera, Parma Morta and la Ghirardi Regional Nature Reserve.
