The wild boar team "Vallescura" di Casanova Staffora, in the province of Pavia, managed to kill a wild boar from really considerable dimensions. Such a large ungulate had never been seen in these parts: we are talking about the territory ofTerritorial area of Varzi hunting and the wild weighs well 204 kilograms.
The collection took place in the locality Masinigo, part of the municipality of Santa Margherita di Staffora. The photo taken by the hunters demonstrates how exceptional the shooting was. This location is located in the mountainous area of the Oltrepò Pavese, more precisely in the upper Staffora Valley.
Just last July the alarm was raised right in the Valley, since in the space of a year there have been more than 50 accidents caused by wild boar and roe deer: even one of the mayors and a city councilor risked big. In August, however, a similar record had been recorded. In the province of Pesaro a hunting expedition made it possible to shoot down a specimen of wild boar weighing 220 kilos, a particular subspecies taken by a rather expert wildlife technician.
