The technical report was published in France related to snipe and whisk as regards the 2016-2017 winter season. The president of the CICB (Club International des Chasseurs de Becassines), Patrice Février, offered an in-depth and interesting picture of the partnership between his association, the transalpine federation of hunters and ONCFS, the state technical-scientific body.
In a nutshell, it is a very effective operational synthesis between hunting, environment and nature. France was divided into two parts due to drought and frost which influenced the collection of data in the hunting phase and in that of the observations on the ground. THE microchip and the monitoring of migration allowed to conclude that the snipe is in good health. In particular, in February and March they were "equipped" ten snipe, with the positions of the birds interspersed on a regular basis via the GPS.
The labels were instead programmed to take a programmable position as well limited to positioning. The first 10 snipes monitored were a sort of test: some specimens migrated towards Russia, while the others took a long time to leave, waiting until April and the first days of May. In regards to the 2017-2018 seasonfinally, it has already been decided to use about twenty birds as a reference.
