Hunting - Umbria: Technical Table for the Restocking of Gray Partridge.
A technical table with hunting associations and organizations of agricultural enterprises that verifies the availability and commitment of the latter to contribute to the repopulation of the gray partridge with cultural programs centered on the accentuation of biodiversity.
This is the conclusion of the meeting between the Councilor for Hunting of the Umbria Region, Fernanda Cecchini, and the hunting associations, in relation to the ban on partridge hunting foreseen in twelve municipalities of the ATC Perugia 1, by the new hunting calendar.
A check of the situation in each area is also planned in September, before the opening of the new season. During the meeting, the commissioner reiterated that "the ban decided by the Umbria Region has the character of an experimental program aimed at the repopulation of partridges, a program that requires vast territorial dimensions and with homogeneous environmental characteristics".
The representatives of the hunting associations present, reads a note from the Umbria Region, "reiterated that, interpreting the will of the majority of their members, they are opposed to the use of the suspension of hunting activities as the first act for starting of the experimental program, confirming the willingness to participate and accept these limitations only in the presence of specific project deeds and economic commitments by the Executive ".
