In these days the agreement has been ratified within the Permanent Conference for relations between the State and the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano on the document bearing “Operational indications on the strengthening of surveillance and risk reduction for some animal diseases". In particular, the agreement focused on the necessary operational indications for strengthening surveillance and reducing the risk of African swine fever e Bird flu. An important step to ensure a high organizational level of prevention and timely response to infections, which could generate significant damage to the zootechnical heritage and wildlife.
As regards ASF (African Swine Fever), strategic measures have been identified for the risk prevention plan to be implemented also in our regional reality, with particular reference to active role played by hunters both in terms of surveillance, reporting and control of possible suspected cases and for actions to reduce the population of boars.
On these important aspects, the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, also through its confederate associations, is doing its utmost for the scheduling of specific meetings with hunters and with the management districts, to provide adequate information aimed at increasing risk awareness and improving the preparation of all interested parties for any activities to be carried out in the area. A commitment that is made with sense of responsibility by the hunting world, for the general interest and for the knowledge that our operators including the Voluntary Hunting Security Guards will be able to make available to the institutions (Source: Hunting Federation).
