Il Ministry of the Environment sent to the Regions and to the Ministry of Agriculture, a communication dated 3 July which refers to "a rigorous implementation of the most suitable management measures as regards in particular hunting activities on the wild dovea (Streptotelia turtur), avoiding to authorize the pre-opening of hunting of the species "; despite that the same Ispra, has expressed in various opinions, that the turtle dove hunting in pre-opening it can be carried out for a maximum of two days and a seasonal game bag of twenty items.
Il Calendar of the Tuscany Region, for years has respected and even reduced the number of pre-opening days on the species and the number of animals that can be taken. This request therefore appears to be absolutely contradictory and not justified. The CCT asks the Region and the Councilor Remaschi to defend the Hunting Calendar pending approval by the Government and reconfirm in the pre-opening the turtledove species among the huntable species.
In the next few hours, they will also be sent to the Tuscany Region, further scientific documentation in order to demonstrate the full sustainability of the levy on the species. The story once again recalls the importance of data collection on migratory species and how indispensable this is for the defense of hunting calendars. A commitment to which we have tried to fulfill with the projects put in place and with the survey activities. The CCT “Data from the Sky” project also goes in this direction and therefore we appeal to many passionate migratory to actively contribute to his success of that project, for the sake of our passion.
