In the woods of Sovicille, in the province of Siena, a thriving was discovered drug dealing which was fortunately crushed by the local Carabinieri thanks to the decisive contribution of the hunters and mushroom hunters. The reporting of shotguns and mushroom guns, in fact, allowed the military to defeat a very dense network of pusher that exploits the green area in order not to arouse suspicion. The gang was headed by some people of North African nationality who were able to market up to 50 doses of heroin, hashish, cocaine and marijuana, while the daily turnover was quantified in about 1500 €.
Four men between the ages of 32 and 36 ended up in handcuffs. The Carabinieri "disguised" themselves as hunters and mushroom hunters to have the decisive evidence and in fact the stalking lasted a few months, without forgetting the stalking and wiretapping. Among other things, customers were threatened by dealers with machetes and hatchets.
It is not the first time that the hunting world has proved useful in this sense, so much so that the association Arch Hunting commented on the news as follows: "This is proof of what we have been saying for some time, those who live in the area, such as hunters and mushroom hunters, an irreplaceable action to protect the territory, useful for the whole community, both when it comes to monitoring fires and, as in this case, public order ".
