From next year it will be inevitable the reduction of the hunting season and of the huntable species after the process of revising the migration dates of birds - the so-called KC document (Key concepts) - with greater protection for birds in Italy. This was announced by the Italian Bird Protection League (Lipu) - BirdLife Italia on the day the hunting season 2021/22, “Marked by the environmentalist victories of numerous appeals and by persistent acts of poaching”.
There is a "concrete risk of infringement proceedings for clear and repeated violation of the Birds Directive if the Regions and Ministry of Ecological Transition they will not act and monitor properly "observes the animal welfare NGO, specifying that the new European Scientific Document establishes that" hunting must be closed by 31 December for all species of thrushes and by 10 January for all aquatic bird species, also considering the risk of confusion between non-huntable and huntable species ".
The new European scientific document, reports Lipu, “confirms the dates of Italian migration, for a long time contested by the hunting world, and indeed in various cases strengthens them from the point of view of the protection of birds, such as for the song thrush and the teal, whose start of migration is anticipated by 10 days".
Giovanni Albarella, head of the Lipu hunting and poaching sector notes that “it is now essential to resolve the issue of hunting for species in a bad state of conservation, starting with the ban on pochard, lapwing and wild dove. The hunting season 2021/22 was characterized by numerous appeals to the TAR promoted by environmental associations who have seen our reasons victorious, forcing almost all the Regions that had included these species in their hunting calendars to turn around with respect to their huntability of these three species ". (HANDLE).
The hunt is, and is becoming a total crap. The laws in Italy alone there are 1000 bans when there are no other parts of Europe. If we don't get together all together, the hunt is over and that's what they want.
