THEXNUMX-XNUMX business days is preparing to discuss yet another attack on the use of ammunition containing lead. UNARM (formerly CD-477) totally disputes this project and in recent days has urged the Italian Government to express itself decisively against this prohibition, which starts from premises that appear in many cases dubious, when not completely groundless and specious, and in particular :
1 - the assertions ofTHROW about the damage to animal and human health are mentioned in a completely generic and imprecise way. In many cases it is a question of damage deriving from wholly hypothetical or marginal conduct, which can however be avoided with a very simple activity of informing any interested parties, and provided that these enthusiasts are not already more than informed about the correct procedures to follow;
2 - the concept of "Wetland" in this case it is completely generic and variable on the basis of meteorological and environmental conditions, even sudden, and which in a few minutes can make a "humid area" what was a dry area only a few minutes before;
3 - further absurd is the fact that even the only one would be punished holding leaded cartridges for all those who find themselves less than 100 meters from "wetlands", in practice they could find themselves reported for possession of leaded cartridges less than 100 meters from a "wetland" that may have just formed and which will evaporate in a few hours and whose existence is not known or could be known;
4 - further “questionable” are the claims that alternatives to lead cartridges would be current, economically sustainable and technically practical;
5 - in fact this proposal is perfectly in line with the EU policy that, directly or indirectly, through absurd and liberticidal rules, continues to pursue the objective of disarming honest citizens who legitimately hold weapons, in this case starting with hunters and exploiting issues that are only apparently cloaked in scientificity and rationality.
As European citizens we are (again) scandalized by the carelessness, the lack of proportionality and the lack of respect that the EU institutions show towards their citizens legitimately armed and therefore particularly controlled; on the other hand, the EU project for the progressive disarmament of honest citizens it is certainly not a novelty and this is just the umpteenth attempt to which we are opposed. We must also note that at a time like the present, when the continent's economy is so heavily tested by Covid-19 pandemic and from the rigorous measures adopted to contain the contagion, there are organs of the EU that, with suspicious reasons and of absolute inconsistency, have no qualms about canceling the hunting activity from the entire continent with all the economic, ecological and occupational damage that this entails.
We invite the Italian government to be the bearer of the clearest and clearest opposition to the proposals for the substantial prohibition of lead-containing ammunition, which are illiberal and fatal for the entire European hunting sector and which tomorrow, 3 September, will be repeatedly discussed in the EU. UNARMI invites, as always, enthusiasts and honest citizens who legitimately hold weapons to always be vigilant in the protection of our rights, because if we do not defend our freedoms ourselves, it will certainly not be others who defend them for us.
