It was approved by the Regional Council of Tuscany, on the proposal of the councilor for agriculture Stefania Saccardi, with the Resolution (n.1003), the request of the Cia Tuscany Center contained in a document of proposals presented in recent days to representatives of regional policy. "As we had asked - comments the president of Cia Toscana Centro Sandro Orlandini - it would have been very important that in the ATCs Florence 4, Florence 5 and Pistoia the possibility of making the selective collection in suitable areas. We are very satisfied that our request has been taken into consideration and included in the regional resolution.
In practice, the activation of the selection hunt reserved for the members of the teams in the territories of suitable areas is allowed. At this point, the deeds necessary for activation have already been dismissed and the relevant disciplinary has also been approved, the offices will communicate the operating procedures to the district heads. We are satisfied with this acceleration in the direction we wish - and for this a thank you goes to Regional Council, alderman and vice-president Saccardi and the regional councilors -, towards the containment of the ungulates that besiege the productions of this territory. There is still a lot to do, but this is it an important step”Concludes Orlandini.
The unanimously approved resolution specifies "to approve the sampling plans for boar selection hunting in the Management Units falling within dedicated area of ATC 11 Pistoia, 04 Florence-Prato and 05 South Florence, as per Annex A) to this deed, with the minimum quantities for each sex / age class provided for therein ". Among the other requests of the Cia Toscana Centro document, the abolition of the so-called "buffer" of 400 meters away from the area dedicated "exclusively" to selectors enrolled in wild boar teams: currently, in fact, the selectors enrolled in the ATC and the owners of land cannot go to the most critical area (the one between the vocated and the unsuitable), greatly decreasing the possibility (and the will) to eliminate wild boars (Source : CIA).
