The provincial section of Pistoia ofNational Free Hunting Association they wrote a letter to talk about hunting management e selection hunting. The association contacted the management committee and the president of theTerritorial area of Pistoia hunting 11, recalling the efforts made since March 2017 for the collection of wild boar, roe deer, fallow deer and red deer, both in suitable and non-suitable areas. In addition, there was a noticeable difference in dues paid by hunters of the ATC compared to others who exercise selective collection in other Tuscan areas.
The indications on the management of cervids and bovids in Tuscany have been issued by the Region. Achieving the regional average sampling rate it would seem to have been passed in the management units of this Pistoia ATC, given that there are three beats for three days of census. For this reason the association seems useless to carry out two censuses (three hours each) from advantageous points to obtain information that can also be obtained with other methods that do not burden the selector management effort.
ANLC Pistoia however stressed that it has nothing against the work of the management committee, but would like the letter to be exploited for future management plans. The provincial body is available for other considerations and possible working tables.
