La Provincial Federcaccia of Novara he made it known how a new boar control plan. The decision was made to try to give the maximum continuity possible to these operations that allow to keep ungulates at bay. The activities began in 1999: already 19 years ago it was decided to intervene directly and now it is not tolerable to frustrate the results achieved.
In particular, it is necessary to put a stop to the damage caused by wild animals to agricultural crops, but also to the forest and wildlife heritage. The number of culls has increased dramatically over the years. In 2001, 63 wild boars were collected, then in 2004 the 100 mark was exceeded for the first time, while last year the animals were 235, four more than twelve months ago.
The provincial control plan is valid for five years and makes use of cages, fences and felling through the turn method and the use of the limiere dog (the maximum number of participants must not exceed 15). Killing by single operators with smooth-bore and rifled bore guns will also be allowed, to look or to look for (also of notes by beacon and suitable optics).
