As disclosed by the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, the Regional Council rejected the motion presented by Movement 5 Stars. The director of the Democratic Party Andrea Pieroni recalled how the party had asked for the suspension of hunting until the time when the hunting wildlife plan would not be approved. According to the regional law, therefore, hunting is allowed and legitimate, based on the provisions of the provincial plans which are currently in effect.
The Councilor for Agriculture Remaschi he stressed that some parts of the new plan will be brought forward in not many days. In particular, we will proceed with the definition of the new suitable and non-suitable areas (no later than next 30 April) and the guidelines that will regulate the compensation for damage caused by ungulates (no later than 31st May to be precise). CCT remarked that improvisation and demagogy are certainly not the best solution in situations like this.
The problems should be investigated and it is also needed a considerable ability to find the right solution. However, the hunting association is taking note of the rejection of the motion, which is why it thanked the councilors and groups who guaranteed the vote.
