As announced by the Veneto regional councilor, Sergio Berlato, the motion on hunts notwithstanding. This is the text presented by Berlato himself, who is also president of the Third Permanent Council Commission. It was inspired byarticle 9 of the Community Directive 147 of 2009, according to which member states can apply the derogation regime.
ISPRA has known these intentions since April and now the species, means, plants and methods of collection have been identified, in addition to the risk conditions and controls. The Veneto Region, however, has yet to know the exact distribution among the Italian regions of the number of animals that can be taken for each species. Now the council is committed to soliciting the Conference between State, Regions and Autonomous Provinces to share the same species, an operation that had to be completed by law by 10 June.
The ISPRA opinion was judged by Berlato to be "obstructive", as if its leaders wanted to prevent the State and Regions from fulfilling a specific obligation. The regime will be applied during the 2017-2018 hunting season, also using the latest opinion that was made available by the Institute.
