THEUnion of Hunters of Sardinia (UCS) has decided that also this year thecrows culling: during hunting season 2016-2017 a pack of 25 cartridges will be paid to the hunter member of the regional association every 10 culled specimens. Furthermore, the hunter will have the obligation to demonstrate these killing and will be able to do so by delivering both legs of each specimen finished in the game bag.
In addition, UCS will also incentivize the containment of the fox in the island: in this case, the hunter will be paid 5 broken ammunition cartridges (lead) for each head killed. Just last year the Sardinia Region chose to make use of the intervention of hunting associations to counter the problem of damage caused by crows.
This is the "Hooded Crow Control Plan", valid from 2015 to 2017 (among the bodies involved there is the regional Department of the Environment). In this it is possible to break down almost 19 thousand crows every year and each province is called upon to contact highly specialized personnel, namely those who are known as coadjutors. Finally, with regard to the fox, on the island it is considered a pest and consequently they organize themselves special hunting trips for containment.
