From 4 to 8 December scrolled to Durban (South Africa) the seventh Meeting of theAEWA extension (African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement) which dealt specifically with waterfowl. As reported by the FACE association, this agreement deals with the conservation status of the various species every three years. Several birds are in decline and the governments of the European Union are aware of the fact that international coordination is needed for overall management. Hunting is actively involved.
AEWA knows perfectly well how important the role of hunters is to create strategic and most useful actions. During these days in South Africa, then, FACE spoke and deepened the question of poaching and the one that has to do with lead ammunition. The association (as well as CIC) fully supports the policy of the agreement, despite the concerns do not miss and concern the actual implementation in some countries.
