Tomorrow, Wednesday 25 July, the Commission of the Regional Council of Tuscany will examine the approval of the provision relating to the "Revision of areas suited and not suited" to the wild boar species, pursuant to Regional Law 9 February 2016 (Objective law for the management of ungulates in Tuscany). After approval by the Commission, the definitive text will be brought for approval in the Regional Council, presumably by first days of August.
As recalled by Federcaccia, the process for defining the new areas suited and not suited to wild boar had a very long “gestation”, if we consider that the criteria were presented by the council over two years ago. Numerous comments have been submitted in recent weeks by trade associations and from the Territorial Areas of Hunting. An analysis work that has seen the regional councilors engaged in the evaluation of corrective proposals that seem to have overcome some critical issues in different territorial realities such asElba island, the districts of the Chianti Fiorentino, the province of Arezzo.
After approval by the Regional Council, the word will pass to the ATCs, which in a very short time now, will have to provide for the new perimeter of the areas suitable for the territories of competence and for the identification of the management districts, to which the teams for the driven wild boar hunt. A very hot August is therefore expected, given the amount of work to be done, but above all due to the very delicate task that the ATCs will have to carry out in assigning the territory to the boar hunting teams.
