Second round of the World Cup, second podium of the season for the Azzurri: this time, Dorothea Wierer signs it, finishing third in the 7.5 km sprint in Hochfilzen (AUT).
Despite missing a target at the first shooting range, the Azzurri showed a growing state of form, closing 30.6 seconds behind the winner, the Belarusian Darya Domracehva, and 8.5 from the Slovakian Anastasiya Kuzmina, silver medalist. In the same race, Lisa Vittozzi also had a good performance, fourteenth with only one error at the shooting range.
In three days strongly conditioned by the strong wind and abundant snow falling on the circuit, the most positive test beyond the podium is offered by the men's relay, fifth at the finish line with Thomas Bormolini, Lukas Hofer, Dominik Windisch and Thierry Chenal.
The IBU World Cup Biathlon caravan is now moving to France, to Annecy-Le Grand Bornard, where another six races will be held from 14 to 17 December: two sprints, two pursuit and two mass starts.
