The beauty of 1200 islands belong to Estonia, all of which are perfect for hunting woodcock. Other ideal places for this type of hunting are the coastal areas bordering the Baltic Sea. In these areas it is possible to hunt woodcocks in step. These territories are, in fact, on the path that woodcocks make during the autumn migratory season when they move from Finland in search of a warmer climate.
The woodcock is, however, also an animal already present on the Estonian territory and it is possible, in fact, to see them nesting during the spring months, especially in March and April. The Estonian landscape is largely covered with dense forests consisting mainly of conifers and birches, but it also has wide plains.
Woodcocks usually roam in both territories as sedentary woodcocks usually nest inside the bush while woodcocks roam the plains at the edge of the woods.
First time hunters in these territories should always have a guide with them. In fact, the plains, in addition to being very wide, are also devoid of any reference point and it is really easy, therefore, to get lost in this landscape even for the most experienced hunters and with a high sense of orientation.
Good fun..
