All the best youth of national skeet shooting met, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September, at Trap Concaverde in Lonato, on the occasion of the Italian championship reserved for the Under 21 of skeet and Olympic pit. The turnout was excellent, with more than 300 young players chasing the Scudetto in the various categories: rookies; young hopes; pupils and juniors. The competitions were held under the watchful eyes of Alberto Di Santolo, coordinator of the national youth sector, and of the technical commissioner of the Olympic pit Antonello Iezzi, both recognized discoverers and forged talents. "The national final of the youth sector is a real celebration, made up of numbers, enthusiasm, authentic participation - recalled the vice president Fitav, Paolo Fiori, acclaimed by the many present - Youth activity is the pillar of our family and not it is a coincidence that, in Changwon, where the world championship was held, our boys proved to be above all others. This is certainly the best flag for a Federation that is a candidate to lead the shooting world ». Words shared by the Lombardy regional delegate Daniele Ghelfi: «Three hundred and nine boys who participated in this competition - he commented - is an excellent number and I would like to thank them one by one. In addition to them, I want to thank all the parents and carers who, from race to race, do their utmost to allow our young people to be present and to continue to practice this wonderful sport, which is bringing so many results, internationally, to our Federation. ".
"It is a great satisfaction for us to be able to host an event like this - said Ivan Carella, president of the host structure - Faced with these numbers, I want to see if there really is someone with the courage to say that skeet shooting it is not a sport for young people. For several years, Concaverde has had the honor of hosting an event linked to the youth sector. I thank the technical commissioners and the clubs for the great work done in the process of approaching and teaching our sport. Today the final was celebrated, today is a day of great celebration, but behind there is an enormous job that requires months and years of commitment ».
Moving on to the responses of the many scheduled races, in the Olympic pit, Michael Caregnato (114 + 45) stood out among the male Juniors. Not new to sports news, the Venetian athlete has behind him the Ligurian Alessandro Divizia (115 + 44) and the Emilian Edoardo Antonioli (114 + 35). Remaining in the Junior sector, this time in pink, the first of the class was the Milanese Alessandra Della Valle (114 + 40), who entered the final with the same score as the second classified, Valentina Panza (114 + 37), who had to give up the exuberance of the Lombard athlete first in the shoot-off for the assignment of the dorsal, then in the gold medal match. Completing the podium was the blue Giulia Grassia (113 + 27), from Modena under the Italian army, who, after the silver in the Criterium, placed the bronze around her neck in the final of the national championship. Great tussle among the Allievi where, crowning himself with laurel, was the Cremonese Marco Mangolini (111 + 41), who blew the highest step of the podium to the young carabiniere Florin Caccia (109 + 40) for a single target. The trio of medalists was completed by Luca Forno (108 + 31) from Pavia. Among the students, Michela Placidi from Lazio (106 + 37) sewed the title to her breast, who finished ahead of Joanna Busolini from Friuli (103 + 34) and Adriana Rubini from Brescia, under the TAV Cieli Aperti (108 +26), who reached the final with the best score. Moving on to the Young Hope, the best among the 55 participants was Matteo D'Ambrosi from Salerno (109 + 41), already winner of the Criterium, who forced the Modena-based Fabio Fiandri (110 + 39) and the Florentine to the squares of honor. Alessio Sforzi (115 + 39), undisputed ruler in the first 125 selection targets. We end, therefore, with the samples of the Esordienti, Antonio Algeri (61 + 24 + 1) and Maria Teresa Maccioni (56 + 20), who only a few months ago started crumbling targets and who, despite the short period of time, the first great satisfactions of this fantastic discipline are given away.
Excellent news, and it is no euphemism, came from skeet, where the Neapolitan policeman Aniello Trinchese (114 + 50 + 9) took home the national title of the male Juniores. After having closed the final with full points, the athlete of the Fiamme Oro had the best of the shoot-off shots on the Tuscan Alessandro Calonici (108 + 50 + 8). The podium was closed by the Friulian Matteo Cussigh (105 + 40), who was not enough with the perfect 40/40 in the final and had to settle for the lowest step. Also among the Juniores in the pink it was necessary a shoot-off for the assignment of the title, won by the Lazio Giorgia Fancello (101 + 46 + 2), followed by the Tuscan policewoman Sara Bongini (96 + 46 + 1) and by the Venetian Giulia Basso (93 + 36). Among the students, the best of the lot was the Lucchese Paolo Micheli (108 + 49) who, with an almost perfect score, preceded the Milanese Lorenzo Milani (109 + 44) and the Terni Daniele Marroni (109 + 36). Among the Esordienti it was instead the Apulian Stefano Carbone who won: his 62 + 20 in the final allowed him to get the better of Gioele Carletti from Marche (59 + 18) and Pietro Basta (48 + 17) from Umbria.
As usual, the Memorial Prestini, former manager of Cas Concaverde and discoverer of many local champions, was also disputed in conjunction with the national championship, respectively won by Andrea Cito and Arianna Rossetto for the Olympic pit and by Gioele Carletti for skeet. Now, after the sporting challenge, many of our young champions will have to face the school one. We are sure that, even on the benches, they will achieve the prestigious results already achieved on the platform.
