Fidasc: Concluded the 10th Italian Campinato Handlers of dogs followed in pack on wild boar.
The great surprise, in this 10th Italian Championship for dog handlers followed by moulting on wild boar, was the recovery of the southern dog lovers. After years (but we can also speak of centuries, without fear of exaggerating) the great experience of the men of the Maremma, nothing has been able to oppose the preparation of the conductor of the "Profondo Sud" (province of Potenza) Gennaro Giampietro who, with his wetsuit by Ariegeois, has shown that this fascinating sport no longer has exclusive rulers and is no longer a prerogative of Tuscany and Lazio but affects the whole country.
An even more significant victory if you consider that it did not take place on a neutral field but right in the heart of the Grosseto area, the undisputed homeland of Butteri and Cinghialai. This edition of the Italian Championship, which significantly coincides with the tenth birthday of Fidasc, took place on a rainy May (14, 15 and 16) in two of the most famous companies in the Grosseto area: that of Monte Bottigli, in the Magliano area. in Tuscany, owned by Prince Ricciardo D'Ardia Caracciolo; and the Sementarecce of Dr. Mario Mencarelli: thousands of hectares of thick Mediterranean scrub, surrounded by cultivated fields, with a horizon dominated by the long undulating profile of the Uccellina Park with its towers, beyond which, towards the north, the waters shine of the Tyrrhenian Sea and you can see the Island of Elba.
The final of the Championship, organized by the Provincial President Luciano Poli and coordinated by the Delegate
Fidasc Sestilio Tonini, was judged by the Race Officials Raffaello Braccianti from Perugia, Giovanni Cardinali from Siena and Antonio Politano from Benevento. Of the twelve wetsuits provided for by the regulation, coming from the three inter-regional eliminations of the North, Center and South groups, only nine arrived: six from the Center (Arezzo, Grosseto and Siena), two from the South (Caserta and Potenza) and one from the North (Parma).
Under the persistent rain that characterized Saturday in particular, the conductor Giampietro imposed himself with a wetsuit of Ariegeois who sinned only in the initial phase (the MB qualification testifies to this shortcoming) and then recovered later, after having found the trace. The canizza, although not very pressing in the first bars, was well vocalized and characterized by very typical voices. At the various jumps of the "cessa" the suit has always been extremely compact and
she never disunited for all the more than forty-five minutes of the sequel.
The Deputy Vice President Domenico Coradeschi, who closely followed the entire competition, had words of praise for the organizers, for the owners of the companies and for their excellent collaborators, in particular David Casini and his wife Giuseppina.
“To win - Coradeschi affirmed - was the whole federal dog community which has shown, once again, to be able to enhance even the athletes who do not use noble dogs, as often happens in normal hunting on wild boar practiced throughout Italy. Category B, which once ran in the enclosures, has now become an adult and the large companies extending over thousands of hectares have become the ideal competition ground for these great drivers and their packs ".
Very satisfied, of course, also the Official Delegate of Fidasc, Sestilio Tonini who underlined the great sportsmanship of the competitors who faced the inconveniences of a difficult but rich race
of charm and suggestion.
The final ranking is as follows:
1st classified, 2010 Italian Champion Gennaro Giampietro, with the Ariegeois wetsuit
qualified with MB and 155,83 points;
2nd place, Fausto Carmignani, with a pack of Italian Hounds who qualified with MB and 154,
83 points;
3rd classified Mauro Bergamaschi with a pack of Maremmani Hounds, not qualified.
