Two consecutive Sundays dedicated to wild boar: next 3 and 10 April are the two days dedicated by the municipality of Val della Torre (province of Turin) to the fourteenth edition of the festival of Cured wild boar salami and "Wild boar", the path that will allow you to discover the history of the Piedmontese town. We will therefore start with the fair trades with food and wine stands, an event that has existed for fourteen years and is organized by the Pro Loco Tourist Association together with the Municipality and other local associations. The goal always remains the same, that is the enhancement of the territory and the promotion of typical local products: salami will obviously be the undisputed protagonist, also because we are talking about a food that has long benefited from Municipal Name of Origin, a very important brand.
The day of April 3 will begin at 9 with the opening of the food and wine stands and the exhibition "The stamps of the boar", a philatelic collection curated by Dr. Luigi Lucco Castello. We will then continue at noon with the tourist reception center and the typical one distribution of polenta and wild boar: alternatively, a mixed platter consisting of Piedmontese cheeses and cold cuts will be proposed. At 15, then, the show area will host concerts by a musical group and the Chiusina Philharmonic Society.
The program relating to “Cinghialando” is also very interesting. After the opening of the tourist reception center, we will start with two routes, the first simply called "Cinghialando" and the second "Cinghialando Mini". In both cases you will discover the food and wine delicacies around the various villages. There are five stations: the first is that of departure and breakfast, followed by that of fresh and aged cheeses, salami from Turgia and wild boar, the surprise of the Valley and the final aperitif. After the return, there will also be tagliatelle with wild boar sauce or a mixed platter of cheeses and cold cuts.
The Pro Loco of Val della Torre can boast of very solid relations with the community of Chianni, a town in the province of Pisa, so much so that the organization of the first festival in 2003 was entrusted to the Tuscan municipality for take advantage of its decades of experience. From that moment a fruitful and lasting collaboration was born that is embellished by exchange of ideas and values and which has improved mutual knowledge. The two appointments in April are fast approaching and will be an opportunity to discover typical foods, simple atmospheres and a renewed contact with nature.
