The appointment was eagerly awaited, also because it was a particular and interesting way of spend the day of Easter Monday: Monday 28 March there was there "Hunter's snack" organized by the section of the Federcaccia of Ponte Buggianese, in the province of Pistoia, and the federation itself spoke of a real triumph. According to the official note of the FIDC, the organization was nothing short of "unscrupulous", given that since 11 in the morning the rain has given no respite, but the hunters hoped and got lucky. In fact, during the afternoon, conditions improved and the light wind did not prevent us from benefiting from the clear skies.
The large turnout was guaranteed by members, relatives and friends, as well as enthusiasts: at least 500 people were counted, a number that exceeded all expectations. Participants were given genuine and delicious products, including sandwiches stuffed with ham, pork neck, malted pork, fresh sausage dough and pork roast. These are foods prepared for the occasion by the butcher "Da Mario" of Traversagna, while the cheeses were those of the dairy Alival Spa.
There was also no lack of "Padulana" crostini, a very tasty local specialty, without forgetting the excellent brigidini of Lamporecchio. As for the bread, then, the baker from Ponte Buggianese gave the best of himself for guarantee freshness and quality. All this was accompanied by sparkling and still water, white wine and red wine. The field chosen for the Hunter's Snack has dried completely: all the people who had the opportunity to participate intervened at different times, so each of them was able to take advantage of the equipment, tables and chairs.
The comments of the people were more than positive, especially the guests wanted to point out the great passion and kindness shown by the organizers, able to satisfy every request. Federcaccia Ponte Buggianese wanted to thank the companies that made the day possible. The area chosen, as usual (it is not the first appointment of this type), was the one north-west of the Fucecchio Marshes, specifically in the field owned by the Bindi family. The hope of the federation is to be able to repeat the experience over the next few years: before then, however, there will be the traditional “Pedala-Padule”, an event organized by the Pistoia municipality for next May 15th and another opportunity to discover this corner of Tuscany.
