The latest from Calabria
We report what has been published in recent days by the Friends of Scolopax association regarding the Overland project and, more specifically, to the situation in Calabria (Aspromonte). Here's what we read in the latest social note: "The adverse weather conditions did not affect the field activities planned in the singular and evocative territories of the Aspromonte National Park, in the land of Calabria".
The customary thanks
"On the sidelines of the days dedicated to this area with a high protectionist and management vocation, we must thank the park authority for allowing us to bring our project to these territories. We benefited from the best collaboration in the person of Antonio Barca, the park's official guide, always present and available. Furthermore, we thank the national vice president of FIDC, Giuseppe Giordano, for supporting us in planning the activities".
Satellite technology
"In a world hushed between threatening clouds, persistent fog, cold north winds and penetrating showers of rain, we still managed to complete the set objective. As many as 5 woodcocks have been equipped with latest generation satellite technology. The hope is that they can all emerge unscathed from the difficult wintering period and that they can offer useful contributions to scientific research. May fate be his friend now!".
