During the two Sundays of May 26 and June 2, 2013, the Pavia Chamber of Commerce organizes the event "Hunt for treasures of Oltrepò Pavese".
Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Pavia, the second edition of "Hunt for the treasures of Oltrepò Pavese" will take place on Sunday 26 May and Sunday 2 June 2013, two guided itineraries among historic villages, castles, wineries and typical products to introduce the Pavia area, its beauties and its products; a treasure hunt to discover the Oltrepò Pavese not only of wines and hills, but of historic villages, castles, parish churches, patrician villas and of course its delicacies: wines, meats, cheeses, sweets and fruit. This year the protagonist will be the Oltrepò Pavese. There are two itineraries proposed to be traveled on board comfortable minibuses (reservations required) or by own means. At each stage it will be possible to take advantage of free visits to the monuments, visit the wineries participating in the initiative, buy and taste typical products and have lunch in affiliated restaurants and agritourisms.
Sunday 26 May: “toast among the castles” route starting: Cigognola. The route winds through the Schizzola and Scuropasso valleys, lands of the great wines of the Oltrepò Pavese, but also of medieval villages and castles, patrician villas, sanctuaries. The 40 km itinerary will start in cigognola where, with a meeting at 9.30, the minibuses for those who have made the reservation will leave. The crews who prefer to move by car or motorbike will in any case receive the “puzzles” together with the information, the resolution of which stage by stage will allow them to win the “final treasure”.
The answers must be delivered by 18.00 pm in the final stage of Oliva Gessi, where from 17.00 pm there will be the possibility of a bound flight in a hot air balloon (by reservation). From Cigognola the route will unfold along the following stages: Pietra dé Giorgi / Rocca dé Giorgi-Villa Fornace / Montalto Pavese / Mornico Losana / Torricella Verzate / Oliva Gessi / Cigognola.
Sunday 2 June: route "between flavors and culture" departure: godiasco. The route takes place in the upper Oltrepò and will touch ancient stone villages, medieval castles that will be revived thanks to re-enactments and guides in period costume. The departure is from godiasco. The itinerary is 60 km long and can always be done on board a minibus (by reservation only, meeting at 9.30 am) or by own means. Godiasco will also be given all the information and the "puzzles" that each crew will have to solve and return by 18.00. From godiasco the route includes the following stages: Bagnaria / varzi / val di nice - oramala castle / fortunago / montesegale / rocca susella - pieve di s. Zacharias / godiasco.
