As announced bySardinia Hunters Union through its official Facebook page, the session of the Fauna Committee of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. The session served to deliberate on the proposed hunting calendar relating to the 2018-2019 season to then be sent to the Regional Committee. The approved document is substantially faithful to that of last season as regards species and periods, but there are also some additional suggestions, also because it is a proposal.
One of the main decisions has to do with the turtle dove, namely two full days of hunting with a maximum daily game bag of 15 specimens (25 seasonal). For the partridge and the hare, three full days have been proposed from next September 23, while the maximum daily game bag should be 2 partridges and a hare (4 and 2 seasonal respectively). Turning the focus to the song thrush and the redwing, the suggested hunting period should end on January 31, 2019.
The other periods refer to wood pigeon (1 October-10 February), the woodcock (until 20 January), the anatidae in general (always until January 20) and wild boar (November 1 - January 31). The restrictions of recent years have affected Sardinian hunters a lot, therefore such a document would be considered an acceptable result. The ball now passes to the Region.
