La Regional Council of Veneto has decided to partially revise the three-year management and control plan for wild boar. In fact, it was decided to implement the proposal of Joseph Pan, regional councilor for hunting, who explained this change. The plan will remain in effect until 2019 and it will serve to eradicate the ungulates and to solve the problems caused by the presence of these wild animals.
In addition, it was inspired by local experiences and by what has been decided by the bodies that manage the protected areas and parks in the Veneto area, so as to have a uniform and effective approach. The document is the result of a summary and the value of such an approach was highlighted by the issue of a favorable opinion and without prescriptions by theISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research).
The territory has been thoroughly analyzed, consequently the critical issues on which to intervene with greater urgency are known. Some parts have just been overhauled for keep control of the suide valid. The goal is to provide an even more adequate tool for the Veneto, exploiting the collaboration with the agricultural sector and the hunting world in the context of a coordination guaranteed by hunting surveillance.
