The Faunal Nucleus of the Provincial Police of Varese announced the accidents that occurred along the roads of this area of Lombardy and that involved the wildlife. It is 141 episodes, even if the number is partial, therefore the phenomenon is much wider. The animal that was most involved in the claims is the roe deer, with 60 cases since last January (therefore just under half).
Another game to which Varese drivers must pay the utmost attention is the wild boar (38 incidents), followed by the cervo (36) and from some rare clash in which the protagonists were mouflons and badgers. Spring and autumn, then, are the periods in which the frequency of accidents is highest. The geographic distribution of the facts illustrates other interesting details about this phenomenon.
The highest number of wildlife accidents occurred in the municipality of valganna, which extends along the state road 233 Varesina, that is to say 18 accidents from the beginning of the year to today. Other worrying numbers are those of the municipalities of Luino and Cuveglio, with respectively 9 and 8 fights with wild.
