Il Turin Alpine District 3 (Lower Susa Valley and Val Sangone) is organizing the qualification course for selection hunting for ruminant ungulates (chamois, roe deer, red deer, fallow deer and mouflons). The lessons have been prepared together with the Metropolitan City of Turin, which will guarantee the premises necessary for the course itself, the printing of any handouts and the issue of the final certificates. What does the program specifically envisage?
The overall duration will be 62 hours, including a section dedicated to ecology and censuses, one relating to ruminant ungulates, sampling techniques and field exercises (treatment of carcasses and handling of weapons). A separate module will be dedicated to roe deer only, however a total of 34 hours of lessons. The final test will last one hour for the quizzes, in addition to a fifteen-minute oral exam. Entries must be completed by the next 31 March, while the certificate will be issued to those who have attended at least 75% of the scheduled hours.
Obviously, the valid firearms license: these are 5 shots resting on the bench on a fixed target at 100 meters. The venue of the course is that of Grugliasco (province of Turin), to be precise, the classrooms of the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the Turin University, as well as the “Le Chamois” shooting range in Coazze for the shooting test.
