La falconry it is a millenary knowledge that has permeated the history of man. For this reason, UNESCO has included it among the assets to be protected by declaring it Intangible heritage of humanity. An art therefore, like painting or sculpture, but still an activity that is fully inserted in the Italian and world ARS VENANDI. An important tradition of civil society. ARCI Caccia takes falconry and falconers into great consideration, which represent a precious and organic segment of the complex ARCI Caccia associative machine.
Not a parade habit, as some seem to consider it, but a form of hunting among the most "particular and sought after". At the HIT Fair in Vicenza we met one of the most representative “falconers” of the Association, Lisa Bertoncello, passionate and militant of the ARCI Caccia del Veneto who speaking with enthusiasm about her favorite fighter said: Falconry has played a really important part in the history of hunting, having been one of the earliest forms of hunting practiced by man, as well as as a cultural aspect in a general sense.
An art that must not remain relegated to exclusive circles and closed gatherings which, at times, recall "circus" performances and elite, reserved for a few professionals. Now is the time to change this "ars", on the contrary it must emerge, make itself known, legitimize itself, first of all within the hunting world to speak to society. Traditional hunters and falconers in behavior should collaborate starting from the hunting ground, to get to know each other better and understand that they are not antagonists but both have a common goal: to give a future to hunting and enrich the new generations of practices such as Falconry.
Hence, the ARCI Caccia is ready to promote with those voluntarily engaged in activities and initiatives to support this ancient art, dedicating spaces on the subject also within the training courses for obtaining the qualification to practice hunting and promoting cultural events and identifying with theEPS a path of companies interested in and willing to promote knowledge on the "field" of lived falconry.
