Everyone has the dog they deserve because each one marks its existence. He does it, perhaps unknowingly, sometimes becoming a teacher at other times a bad teacher. And it happens because we don't always know the psychology and behavior of an authentic four-legged universe.
It is necessary to graduate orders and reactions according to age.
Knowing your dog means knowing exactly what you can expect from him and not expecting anything other than contrasts with age and psyche. Scientists have identified the evolutionary stages of dogs: they do not develop with predetermined cadences but have precise reference periods.
First stage. It is the period from birth to the 14th day when the eyes are still closed. All reflexes are stimulated by the mother and aimed at satisfying hunger. The growth is remarkable and at the end of this period it weighs three times more than at birth.
Second stage.
It is completed on the 21st day: the little ones open their eyes wide and at every noise they have a very slight jolt: it is the sign of a reaction.
Erupting stage.
It is the time - it ends when the child is less than 50 days old - in which the little one begins to socialize. The imprinting is highlighted: he knows his mother, consolidates relationships with siblings, lays the foundations for that emotional life that will lead him later. to courtship.
Fourth stage.
It ends at the tenth week and is evident from precise responses to particular stimuli. They demonstrate a marked search behavior by exploring kennels or, in the countryside, trying to become aware of the scents. The first confrontations also begin and are attempts to fight in which character is highlighted.
First stage of youth.
It ends, according to Trumler, in the fourth month and in the child it corresponds to the one that precedes the start of school. The character is still modifiable: some abilities including movement and vivacity are similar to those of the adult. If the puppy has remained closed in its enclosure up to this period, without familiarizing with the noises of the city or life in a house, it will be unsafe for a longer or shorter time.
Second stage of youth.
It is between the fourth and sixth month (in humans it is identified with the elementary school). The little one has already learned rudiments of education and behavior even if they must be perfected precisely because he is experiencing the "phase of inclusion in the herd" (Trumler).
Puberty stage.
The nervous system develops completely. At the beginning the puppy has a brichino behavior, as if he had suddenly forgotten all the teachings. Gradually, however, the body is consolidated and not infrequently in this period the instinct to guard matures and is nothing more than a delimitation of one's sexual territory.
uni professionals of the English and German school apply the so-called puppy tests, particular tests that should measure the degree of readiness and intelligence of the puppy in its various stages of development and even if the puppy will then have a temperament suitable for whoever must own it. The tests must be performed when the children have completed at least the seventh week and not after the twelfth.
