The president of the provincial section of Bergamo of Italian Federation of Hunting, Lorenzo Bertacchi, decided to comment on the suspension of the bird fair of Pontida. The appointment in Valle San Martino was canceled due to the communication of the Health Protection Agency of Bergamo to the Municipality, to be precise following new outbreaks of avian flu in some turkey and laying hen farms in Lombardy.
Also the Casazza Fair it can be considered canceled, despite being an integral part of the Festa dello Sport next 29 July. The measures of the ATS are a fact and in the event of an established outbreak the investigations must be investigated. However, Bertacchi said he was confident, in the hope that the employees will quickly ascertain the episode and its constituency, limiting the measures to a more restricted territorial area. Positive updates are expected for the aforementioned Casazza Fair, but there are few days available, so Federcaccia Bergamo is maintaining a pessimistic attitude.
Other suspension risks concern the fair of Almenno San Salvatore (August 13) and that of Sarnico (August 15): it would be a sin to cancel them, as we are talking about fundamental moments for traditional rural and hunting venues. Among other things, the president stressed that so far no avia outbreak has been found in the calls of hunters or in the farms of the same calls.
