On March 31 there was a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health after the request made by Hunting Federation: present, among others, Stefano Simeoni, councilor ofACMA (Association of Aquatic Migrant Hunters), and Lorenzo Carnacina, FIDC vice president and head ofMigratory Birdlife Office. The appointment was very important in the light of outbreaks of avian flu in the European continent, given that we are talking about almost two thousand cases between the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017.
The EU Commission has changed security measures with a specific resolution, a series of measures implemented by Italy that has adapted the current regulations. The ordinance relating to the use of live decoys in hunting has been definitively repealed, regardless of what was established at the end of last year, namely the suspension of the derogation and temporary prohibition of the use of recalls. There were also regulations poultry farms to prevent avian.
During the meeting it was clarified that the suspension of the derogation provided for the immediate prohibition of use throughout Italy, while in the farms it was decided to respect certain territorial limits. ACMA stressed how keep the calls alive with due precautions remains one of its main objectives. This issue will continue to be monitored for new updates and developments.
