The hunting season ends, not the controversy season
At the end of the hunting season, the controversial declarations of animal rights activists and anti-hunts arrive as usual and certainly not unexpected, with the now equally usual support of Minister Brambilla.
The main argument of the abolitionist theses is the alleged contrary position of the vast majority of Italians, however, derived only from the usual Ipsos survey, pretending not to know the very different results provided by the survey that Federcaccia together with the other hunting associations of Face Italia and CnCn has entrusted to Astra Searches.
Results that in these days have found substantial confirmation in those provided by the Eurispes survey just published.
In the same way, those regions that have correctly applied the regulations are accused of non-compliance and forcing, allowing hunting calendars not inspired by a sterile and unfounded restrictive approach to the terms of collection of some species, "forgetting" again that Ispra itself - often from quoted to them - does not consider hunting a risk to biodiversity.
Finally, without wanting to lower ourselves to the sad and squalid war of figures regarding hunting accidents, we limit ourselves to remembering the attention to safety that has always and always with greater care is one of the main commitments of our association and of the hunting world in general. .
To demonstrate the instrumentality of the social alarm that one wants to create with certain data, it is enough to compare the absolute indifference to much greater figures caused by a whole series of sports and recreational activities experienced in the open air.
Or last but not least, today's news, the absolute indifference with which it is experienced the fact that every day two pedestrians are run over and killed on our streets.
As we have repeatedly complained, this is certainly not the way to tackle a delicate issue such as that of the management of fauna and the territory in its various aspects, including hunting.
We can only hope that the season of these sterile controversies will finally be over, but unlike that of hunting, to never reopen.
