The UN conference
Last 8 December at the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity - #COP15 in Montreal (Canada) - the event IPBES Sustainable Use and Values Assessments: Implications for the new Global Biodiversity Framework was held, during which the results were presented key to two IPBES Reports: #SustainableUse and #ValuesAssessment.
The work of 77 experts
In particular, the #SustainableUse Report analyzed the multiple aspects of the sustainable use of wild species, thanks to the work of 77 experts from various countries. Valter Trocchi, from the Study and Research Office of Federcaccia, also contributed to the Report, highlighting various aspects related to the sustainable management of wildlife for hunting purposes in developed countries.
The role of hunting
The current multifunctional role of hunting was underlined, which also involves the use of "ecosystem services" provided by nature and the valorisation of renewable "natural capital". Once again, therefore, Federcaccia reaffirms sensitivity and commitment to the issues of biodiversity and sustainable use of natural resources (source: FIDC).
