Federcaccia Grosseto organizes a collection of funds to be allocated as solidarity aid to the populations of the province affected by the flood of last November 2012.
At the end of the hunting season, a new cycle begins, the most beautiful, the one that hunters dedicate to the management of the territory. This is the most important period of hunting because the success of the next opening depends on this job. There is excitement among the Maremma hunters, everyone is engaged in a thousand activities and in the end time is always running out. The rest of humanity thinks that the hunter from February to September does not know how to pass the time, the hunt is finally closed.
Pia Pera in her book "the garden of the idler" begins the chapter dedicated to February with: "The beauty of this month is that the hunt is now over ..." The hunt never closes, because it is precisely when everyone thinks it is closed the most important period of hunting, if it ends, using the writer's term, it will be because there will no longer be the natural environment, an indispensable element for exercising this millenary activity born with man.
One could write and talk for hours about the meaning and role of the hunt and the hunter and even in this discussion time would not be enough. But in this beginning of 2013 our thoughts turn to those populations of our province who were hit by the flood of November 2012, these people of Maremma did not let themselves be overwhelmed by the fury of the elements and with great sacrifice and dignity started immediately the difficult period of reconstruction.
I still remember the story of a hunter friend from Albinia found hunting wild boar: “… I have nothing left, the water has canceled all my life's work, I no longer wanted anything after what had happened. Today I took the rifle back and I came hunting, I saw you, my friends always up around the fire, simple things that are good for me, this is my life, tomorrow I will continue to work with all the strength I have left in this land that despite everything I love more than my life. "
The Provincial Council of Federcaccia has allocated a contribution of € 7.000,00 giving up the 2013 gadget, it is a small thing we want to do as hunters, each Federcaccia member will contribute with the payment of the card to donate a contribution to 20 hunters seriously affected by the event and in need of attention and help. The delivery will take place on Sunday 3 March at Parrina during the feast of benfinita, in the presence of the local and provincial authorities, convinced that our contribution full of hope and good intentions will bring a word of comfort and support, honoring a category that has always done solidarity is the intrinsic value of the hunter.
For those wishing to contribute to increasing the amount allocated, you can contact the Federcaccia section in via Europa 4 in Grosseto or call 3356437238, together we can do more.
