The regional section of the Piemonte ofNational Free Hunting Association wrote to the Regional Council and the Board about the vote on what could become the next law onPiedmontese hunting activity. The association believes this provision is positive, given the absence of legislation regulating hunting in the region, but there is no shortage of worries. The bill in question was dismissed by the Third Commission and could penalize the hunting world with limits and prohibitions that are not present in the National Hunting Law.
Consequently, the regional norm could come into conflict with the national one and therefore with the Constitution. Libera Caccia then recalled the laws that circumvented the sentences of the Piedmont Regional Administrative Court they had given right to the hunters, forcing the Regional Council to modify the hunting calendars already published. This is why the association should wait for the outcome of the consultation before accelerating the outcome of the legislative provision.
The association does not want to believe that the Regional Council can ignore the judgments of the Administrative Court: Piedmontese hunters ask only to carry out their activity in compliance with national and European regulations, as happens in other Italian regions. The hope is that the five-year mandate does not end with the approval of a law that it may soon become unconstitutional in many of its parts. The question should be further investigated, Libera Caccia finally reiterated its collaboration on the matter.
