Dear friends, we arrived again this year close to the Holy Easter, a definitely different Easter, lived with a state of mind that has been experienced for over 2 months by one health, social and economic crisis that we never expected. Whole weeks locked in the house watching TV broadcasting surreal footage, ghost city, field hospitals we had only seen in war movies, closed shops, endless lines in front of supermarkets and pharmacies. Yet, our enthusiasm, our trust and our altruism, they did nothing but grow.
We are a category that is continually attacked only because it is envied for our way of being, but we are truly a large category of citizens. Given our character, let's look on the bright side; it will be an Easter in the warmth of the home, like in the old days, where we will be able to rediscover the values of family and affections that too many times have been clouded by consumerism and the unbridled desire to live a party dedicated to escapism by force, and not the true values that our fathers taught us. Soon, if we all do our part, we will return to normal life, but I believe it will not be like the one we left in January, it will be a way of life that it will put some carriages that were derailed back on the right track and we will resume life arm in arm, truly appreciating all that this offers us.
The Italian people are a special people in every aspect, and you will see that with the help of everyone and with a bit of luck that never hurts, we will come back stronger than before and we will prove to the whole world that we are not the infectors of ailments but the problem solvers of humanity. Now all I have to do is wish you all, your families, all Italians and beyond, including those who insult us for free, a Happy Easter in peace and serenity. A hug, albeit virtual, from your first friend then President Paul Sparvoli.
