Canale Monterano, a municipality in the province of Rome which rises a short distance from Lake Bracciano, is about to host the 2017 edition of the traditional Wild Boar Festival. The gastronomic event will take place from 7 to 9 July next, with the organization curated byContrada Carraiola Cultural Association and the Pro Loco. As you can easily guess, there will be three days of good taste and gods dishes based on wild boar meat, although alternative dishes will also be prepared.
There will also be a pub-brewery, live music, a market exhibition, a cycling race and much more. Last year, about 6 thousand people participated in the Canalese festival, confirming the great appeal it exercises. In practice, this is the continuation of the Contrada party who was born in 1976.
The choice to focus on wild boar and the culinary field dates back to 2008, so the ten years since the debut of the event are about to be celebrated. The headquarters will be that of Piazza della Carraiola: on Sunday 9 July, moreover, the food stands will also be active for lunch, offering menus with first, second, water and wine.
