It will be held on Tuesday 6 November at 16.30 pm, at the headquarters ofEuropean Parliament, the conference "Communicating the role of hunters in Europe" on the initiative of MEP Renata Briano, Vice-President of the Parliamentary Intergroup "Biodiversity, Hunting and Rural Activities" and organized in collaboration with FACE. Hunting is an integral part of European culture and involves a strong connection with nature for millions of people. Sustainable hunting also benefits local communities in European rural regions.
The conference aims to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the role of hunting in Europe. The speakers will focus on topics such as the importance for the education of young people (with examples of short stories and literature), as well as its recent trends in organic food consumption and how to promote the consumption of game in the public. We will also discuss the communication challenges related to promotion of the cultural value of traditional hunting methods in the Regions of Europe bordering the Mediterranean.
There is a need for effective communication that ensures that the broad benefits of hunting are understood and recognized by European society. After the introduction and greetings from the MEP Karl-Heinz Florenz and MEP Renata Briano, moderator of the meeting, will be attended by Oliver Dorn, entrepreneur and editor-in-chief of HALALI Magazin, Patrizia Filippi, author of the book "Hunt in Wonderland", Joe Perici-Calascione, President of the Malta Hunter Federation.
