Hunters and fishermen together for an ecological initiative aimed at cleaning up the territory of Marsciano, in the province of Perugia, from waste dispersed into the environment.
The ecological day promoted by hunters and fishermen coincides with the "hunting and fishing" with cameras of those who abandon waste in a public place. The morning of Saturday 22 March 2014 will be dedicated, in Marsciano (PG), to the cleaning of waste from roads and green areas in the immediate outskirts of the capital. The ecological initiative is organized by the Municipality of Marsciano, in collaboration with SIA, on the proposal of the association "Federcaccia" of Marsciano, chaired by Montagnoli Giuliano, and the fishing association "Avis Nestor Lenza" whose president is Tilli Attilio. Some students of the Brunone Moneta Middle School will also participate in the initiative. The meeting is scheduled in piazza K. Marx at 9.00. From here, based on the number of participants, the volunteers will divide into two or more teams that will operate in different areas in the vicinity of Marsciano. Sia will provide the necessary material, such as gloves and bags, for separate collection. At the end of the operations, everything will be loaded onto SIA vehicles and taken to the ecological island.
It is an initiative open to the participation of all, individual citizens and associations. Anyone wishing to participate must not do anything else other than present themselves at the indicated appointment and, to allow a better organization of the initiative, can communicate in advance their availability to the e-mail address of the Environment Office of the Municipality ([email protected]) or by calling the Councilor for the Environment, Virgilio Lipparoni, at 3346628681.
“We try, through this initiative too - explains Councilor Lipparoni - to restore dignity and decorum to our environment by remedying, as far as possible, the behavior of those few uncivilized citizens who still persist in improperly abandoning various types of waste. We also take this opportunity to inform citizens that the municipal administration has put into operation the mobile cameras managed by the municipal police which, in compliance with current regulations, are aimed at detecting incorrect behavior such as the abandonment of waste both on the territory and outside. from the bins at urban locations. It should also be remembered that the municipal regulation for the management of urban waste provides for very heavy economic sanctions for offenders, including those who abandon containers of drinks and food in a public place, a behavior that is unfortunately still very widespread.
Since the Administration, and therefore the citizens, spends important resources to maintain the dignity of the streets and towns, we intend to make an ever greater commitment to counteract these bad habits. The hope is that initiatives such as this ecological day, which have a high symbolic value in raising awareness on environmental issues, can be repeated, with these and other associations, several times during the year in order to also make a concrete and visible contribution to the protection of the dignity of our territory ".
