In this phase of health emergency, which will go down in history, we are witnessing a real race to plug obvious "flaws" in the country's organizational system. I am a testimony of this continue DPCM issued in bursts, the last to correct and supplement the previous one. The Regions often operate in complete autonomy, competing to see who is more virtuous, as if each governor wanted to overrule the other. In fact, however, it can be said that a great confusion and a great disorientation has been created. We do not enter into the merits of how it would have been better to operate and plan, it is not up to us.
To us, instead, it is up to the task of defending the hunting passion, and above all the rights and image of the hunter. The hunting world has never underestimated the health emergency and the many infections and unfortunately deaths that have also occurred in our municipality. For this, all the Hunting Associations of San Miniato, having previously heard the opinion of many practitioners with unanimous approval, they shared an appeal to all those who practice hare hunting, so that, even when this type of hunting is allowed again, presumably from next weekend, they desist from practicing it. It would be a matter of giving up one, perhaps two days, on a season that is now definitively compromised, since the hunting of the hare, as per the hunting calendar, ends on 7 December of each year.
This is motivated by the fact that the long pause that has taken place, about which the Hunters have repeatedly expressed their perplexity, has caused a general relaxation of this type of game, which could cause an excessive collection. This confirms the fact that the hunting world cares about the balance of fauna. Certainly our proposal, which is not mandatory, assumes an ethical and collaborative value as well as being a precautionary planning for the future. Therefore, our appeal has a double meaning: on the one hand we want to demonstrate, if it were still needed, our seriousness and responsibility and hunting ethics in the management of game and the territory; on the other hand, however, we want to reiterate our disagreement on how the management of the hunting activity was dealt with in the various government and regional measures. In fact, we expected from those who have government responsibilities at all levels, that there would be greater attention and clarity towards the world of hunting.
We would like to underline that we have not accepted the behavior assumed by the Government towards hunters, completely ignoring the category, perhaps the safest from an epidemiological point of view, in exercising this activity. As we would like to point out there is maximum cohesion, in San Miniato, among the various types of hunting. Certainly we will not follow the calls for the containment of so-called harmful or dangerous game, if there is no unanimous operation in the next DPCM or regional ordinances. It is clear to everyone that we were also ignored by the governor of Tuscany as well as by the central government. We hope that our "act" is an important signal to those who limit themselves to superficial considerations on hunters, often giving the wrong image (Federcaccia, ARCT and Arci Caccia San Miniato).
