Hunting: Calabria, the Young Hunters Association replies to the proposals of the Milanese Federcaccia regarding concessions based on the age of hunters, "Wanted young hunters".
The Young Hunters Association, always attentive to all proposals aimed at improving hunting, after reading the declarations of the Fidc of Milan in which it is thought to propose reductions in terms of taxes for the over 65s and to focus more on young people to encourage the generational change that has long been lacking in hunting, recalls the proposal, made on 6 June 2012 during a meeting held at the Regional Council of Calabria between some politicians from the Calabria region and the representatives of the AA.VV, preparatory meeting for the reform of the law on the recently approved hunting activity in Calabria. The Young Hunters Association, in this meeting, had proposed to eliminate or possibly reduce the payment of taxes for the over 70 and under 25 to facilitate the elderly hunters who live on pension only and the young people who approach Ars Venandi in a moment like this of severe economic crisis. This idea was immediately rejected but subsequently revisited and included in the Regional Law of 30 May 2013, n. 26 which makes changes and additions to the regional law May 17, 1996, n. 9 and published in the Official Bulletin of the Calabria Region of 7 June 2013.
The proposal made at the time by the Young Hunters was thus included in the aforementioned law with article 14 which modifies article 18 of regional law 9/96 which is reported below:
Art. 14 (Amendment of article 18 of Regional Law 9/96)
1. After paragraph 1 of article 18 of Regional Law 9/96 the following is added: “1 bis. The amount of the aforementioned tax is due to the extent of 50 per cent for individuals who, on the date of the opening of the hunting season, are seventy years old as well as for those who have not turned twenty on the same date ".
If you really want the renewal to become possible, it is necessary that the management question young hunters on the idea of the future regarding hunting in order to undertake innovative paths that can lead to the relaunch of the sector. It is undoubtedly necessary to free oneself from the old idea of associations, now obsolete, made up of that patronage that reflects all too well those political circles that today are strongly affected by the weight of some choices.
It is time to renew. We Young Hunters, respecting the many years of experience of the AAVV exponents, we have said it forcefully, we have reiterated it also going to the most direct and frontal confrontation possible without fear, against the system, with the feeling of never being listened to, but today events prove us right and therefore we ask a question to the AAVV management: “Do we want to renew thinking and planning by cooperating all together for the good of hunting? Or you will continue - alone - on the "old" suicide line to hear us say "Young" and Hunters, one day, when maybe they won't let us go hunting anymore: we told you a long time ago that this is how things would go bad..".
