Hunting: Emilia Romagna, the councilor Stefano Bargi presents a question, "Region vigilant on the wildlife-hunting activity".
“The Region must intervene, to enforce the limits imposed, in the wildlife-hunting activity”. This is the meaning of the message launched by the regional councilor, Stefano Bargi, in his question. Because this activity is regulated by the directives on hunting companies, by regional law number 8 of 1994 and subsequent amendments.
These measures require as a requisite, for mountain farms (as in the case brought to the attention by the councilor Bargi and referred to the Municipality of Zocca) the following hectare limits: from a minimum of 500 to a maximum of 4000 hectares. "The Rio Selve hunting farm in Zocca (Mo) - explains Bargi - has been in business for about 15 years and its authorizations have been renewed by the Province until 2021".
"According to what we found - continues Bargi - from a request from us, urged by some residents, the total area of the" Rio Selve "hunting company in Zocca corresponds to 307,81 hectares, of which 304,18 of agro-forestry area. pastoral, therefore below the minimum of 500 hectares required. For this reason, the question presented to the Regional Assembly intends to clarify the surface of the Zocca company at the time of issuing the permits and, if this was less than what is required by the regulations, why the Province of Modena l 'has authorized ”.
"But, more importantly, as a group we ask what measures - warns Bargi - the Region wants to take to ensure compliance with its directives, considering that the activity of the wildlife hunting companies must be related to the biological cycle of the species".
