"Incomprehensible and unjustified", an attack on South Tyrolean autonomy. So the president of the provincial council Arno Kompatscher commented yesterday on the recent sentence of the first central section of appeal of the Court of Auditors of Rome. The college condemned the former president of the provincial government Luis Durnwalder and the director of the Hunting and Fishing Office of the time Heinrich Erhard for the decrees issued between the 2010 and the 2014 which authorized the collection or killing outside the permitted period of some protected species such as for example the cormorant, the badger, the marmot, the stone marten and the ibex, asking both of them to reimburse a significant tax damage.
"We agree that this sentence is disproportionate to the situation and that the primary competence of the Province in matters of nature and the environment needs to be definitively clarified as soon as possible" underlined the President of the Province Kompatscher on the sidelines of the junta.
The Advocacy was appointed today to verify all the legal instruments with which to defend the South Tyrolean autonomy. “We will use all the tools available,” added Kompatscher. An official position should therefore be taken in the coming weeks from a legal point of view.
