As specified by Federcaccia Caserta, in the meeting of the council of 19 June 2018 it was approved the regional hunting calendar for the 2018/2019 hunting year. The long-awaited epilogue came after months of studies, analysis and processing of scientific data thanks also to the enormous amount of data made available by the Federcaccia birdlife office. Data thanks to which it was possible to confirm appropriate sampling periods for different species and to improve other periods, initially restrictive, with the inclusion during the latter, of other species.
A result that if not a victory, again given the various vetoes on many species, it sounds like a sign of awakening, of redemption of the entire hunting environment, with the trade associations deployed on a united front to assert the rights of about 45.000 hunters from Campania. There is still a lot of work to be done on many aspects: from aquatic to waders, from ungulates to migratory, not to mention the sedentary and dog-loving, the latter once again penalized by a period of dog training that is too restrictive and discriminating, a fact common to many other regional hunting calendars, in the face of an activity that in recent years has been enjoying great consensus, also for its monitoring function in protected areas, of certain wild species, for studies and projects both at a sporting level, as well as scientific due to the possible impact of controlled hunting.
Nevertheless, the one just approved thanks to a regional political component that has listened to the recognized hunting associations, is one of the best hunting calendars of recent years and all the insiders and especially the hunters from Campania hope that the path taken can be followed in the years to come.
