The hunting situation of the District Lecco Pre-Alps it is certainly not the best, as evidenced by latest issues that have been published. The summary is easy to say: five years ago there were 634 hunters, while now they have gone down to 610, a worrying trend that could lead to further thinning. By the way, the decrease concerns the whole of Lombardy and that of the Lecco province is only one of the striking cases in this region.
From Valmadrera to the borders with the upper Valsassina registered hunters have dropped clearly and the latest estimate speaks of 610 units in this area. In 2013 there were 634, while the following year they had even become 636 (therefore two more). In 2015 and 2016 it fell to 622, up to the last two years which registered a not very encouraging number.
Roberto Combi, president of the same District, however, did not want to make a drama for these statistics. According to Combi the numbers are practically always the same: the president underlined that hunting is not a sport as is often mistakenly believed, but a passion to be handed down from father to son. There are senior hunters, middle-aged hunters and even hunters young hunters despite the fact that the generations are very different today as regards the approach.
Hunters are decreasing in the province of Lecco and in particular the Lecco Pre-Alps; but they know how the territory is useful for hunting today in those areas ?????
The territory of Valmadrera excluding the part included in the CAC "Lariana Peninsula" the hunters of that country, HAVE almost no more land available useful for hunting; causes? the urbanization and industrialization of its territory, the Montebarro park. the superhighway 36. The Lecco Pre-Alps are also in the same boat, perhaps with slightly less damage but they certainly CANNOT laugh (LACK OF TERRITOTIO USEFUL FOR HUNTING)
These are the major causes for the decline in hunters.
