Over 250 people took part in the assembly called by the Federcaccia Tuscany provincial section of Pistoia, last July 31 at the ZAC "Il Sodo" of Vergiole / Arcigliano. An audience interested and attentive to the topics presented by the speakers. An evening that certainly highlighted the important results achieved in recent months by the Tuscan Federcaccia and more generally by the Tuscan Hunters Confederation, on hunting in Tuscany. Unlike the many "smoke sellers" who, even in these days, do not fail to point out their marginality on the regional hunting dynamics, the President of the Federcaccia di Pistoia - Franco Biagini, at the opening of the proceedings, recalled the main stages of a path which today, despite the difficulties of a delicate phase in the life of citizens and the country, guarantees Tuscan hunters, legal certainty and hope for the future.
The intervention of the president of Federcaccia Toscana - Marco Salvadori, focused on the main contents of the new Regional Law on Hunting, on the innovations and defense actions of the Regional Hunting Calendar, on the withdrawal by derogation of the Starling and the management plans of ungulates. Salvadori also strongly emphasized the value and contribution that has been able to be put in place, since the Regional Conference on hunting held just a year ago, to relaunch the Tuscan model with a new regional law at the forefront of the national level. A positive resumption of relations and discussions with the institutions should also be highlighted, which will allow the work begun to continue, also in the next legislature.
In the background remains the objective of a rapid approval of the new Regional Wildlife Plan, to redesign and enhance the wildlife institutes and give back a strong centrality to the role and functions of the ATCs. The theme of wildlife management and ATC was also taken up by the punctual and informative intervention by Cristiano Pieracci, Fidc representative in ATC PT 11. Pieracci recalled that in the current year, 100% of the damage to agricultural crops and a plan of controlled releases of approximately 9.000 head of sedentary game is envisaged. The central theme of the evening was above all that concerning the legislative innovations on the hunting use of live calls, introduced in the new Regional Law.
Numerous questions and timely responses provided to hunters, on a provision that overall was able to provide a serious legislative response, with the aim of guaranteeing hunters, certainties and guarantees for the performance of a form of hunting, that of the migratory with calls live, which still today affects very high numbers of practitioners in the province of Pistoia and at the regional level. The initiative ended with the intervention of the Regional Councilor Marco Niccolai. A presence appreciated also for the quality of the contents of an intervention, which highlighted how politics can and must take charge of the requests correctly expressed by the hunting world when they have the quality of proposal and balance with general interests as a foundation. On specific issues such as that concerning live recalls and the withdrawal in derogation of the Storno, the region and the majority forces, have been able to play a positive role, and take on the responsibilities that fall to them.
