Il National Union of Hunters published an official note with a rather emblematic title: "Sicily, former land of barbarian invasions". The reference went to the Federcaccia and the attempt to override a ban that is requested and obtained. We are talking about the prohibition that does not allow extra-regional hunters to exercise the hunting activity in Sicilian territory in the pre-opening period. Incidentally, this ban was extended at the turn of October, November and December. SNC did not like at all the opinion of the FIDC on the proposal of hunting calendar 2017-2018, specifically, the fact that the extension of the ban was judged to be a "completely far-fetched and unacceptable proposal".
Furthermore, Federcaccia recalled the impossibility for non-resident hunters of pick up larks, thrushes, woodcocks and ducks in the pre-opening period. According to the Syndicate, these are the selfishness of a few groups of Sicilian hunters, with the disconcerting detail of the regional administration that is pandering to everyone. The note reads as the extra-regional hunter who benefits from a shortened period of access to the island's ATCs must pay the relevant fee in full. If you have already paid and want to renounce entry to Sicily, you can request a refund before the start of the hunting season.
The Syndicate highlighted above all the existence in Sicilian territory of wildlife envied throughout Italy, therefore the invasion of the extra-regional is inevitable. The Syndicate demanded and obtained that the principle of reciprocity be amended to stem the inequalities between the Sectors, excluding the access of extra-regional hunters during periods of pre-opening and step, a situation that should continue.
